Biomass also lends itself to financial savings and gains through fuel efficiency and the governments RHI scheme.
Biomass Boiler Servicing & Maintenance
Burning solid fuel can produce lots of ash and soot. Although biomass boilers are deigned to cope with this, it is still very important to get an annual service. If the boiler is not annually serviced its possible for components to be damaged and blockages to occur. This will lead to inefficiency and may possibly make the boiler unsafe.
What does the service include?
- Flue gas analysis
- Boiler tightness check
- Boiler operation check
- Ignitor replacement (if required)
- Feeding system
- Boiler heat exchanger and turbulators
- Actuators, valves and controls
- Sensors (Lambda, temperature, LUX, pressure)
- Safety Valves and expansion vessels
- Unvented hot water system
If you are claiming RHI then you are required to have at least 1 service a year. Failure to do so may result in loosing your RHI payments.
